OryxAlign acquires SDT Holdings and strengthens its capability in South Africa.

OryxAlign, a UK-based managed IT services provider, has announced its acquisition of SDT Holdings, including subsidiaries SDT Limited and Hosts Unlimited. Finalised in October 2024, the acquisition represents OryxAlign’s first step into growth through acquisition, complementing its historically strong organic growth.

The deal accelerates OryxAlign’s growth in South Africa, further strengthening its global footprint alongside its existing 110-person UK operations in London and Manchester, as well as in the Philippines. It also brings additional recurring revenue streams, bolstering OryxAlign’s ability to deliver its portfolio of 24×7 managed IT services, enterprise networking, cloud transformation and managed cybersecurity solutions across a growing client base.

The acquisition integrates SDT’s established South African operations in Cape Town and UK office in Bracknell into OryxAlign’s portfolio, which is expected to drive a 31 per cent increase in annual revenues, from £15.2 million in 2023 to over £20 million for the 2024/25 financial year. OryxAlign gains access to SDT’s existing and long-standing client relationships,  and its full suite of operational capabilities in delivering IT solutions tailored to complex environments.

“This acquisition marks a major milestone for OryxAlign after several years of strong, double-digit organic growth,” said Carl Henriksen, OryxAlign’s CEO. “SDT’s culture, its commitment to service excellence, its strong recurring revenues generated by a loyal client base, and its successful South Africa operation, all combine to make it an ideal partner to drive our continued growth, and enhance our ability to deliver scalable, high-value technology services to our growing client portfolio.”

SDT’s clients will benefit from access to OryxAlign’s accredited governance frameworks, mature service management methodologies and enterprise technology platforms, including round the clock cyber security and a broader range of technical expertise.

“OryxAlign’s understanding of our people, our clients and shared objectives was clear from the outset,” said Andrew Wayman, Managing Director of SDT. “This isn’t just a merger with a larger IT services company; it’s a collaboration with a partner that truly complements our approach. As part of the OryxAlign group, we can enhance our offerings with access to more expertise, resources and an extensive portfolio of solutions to help all our clients.”

The integration process will prioritise maintaining service continuity as SDT’s clients are gradually migrated to OryxAlign’s technology platforms. Combined integration teams will collaborate to ensure a seamless transition.
